Vallivue High Student Named National Finalist

We are very proud to announce that one of our very own has been selected as a national finalist for the National FFA Proficiency Award in Agriculture Mechanics Repair and Maintenance Placement. Carson Urrutia is one of only four people chosen to compete for this award at the national finals to be held at the 91st National FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis this fall.

The proficiency awards recognize outstanding student achievement in agribusiness gained through establishment of a new business, working for an existing company or otherwise gaining hands-on career experience. The Agricultural Mechanics Repair and Maintenance Placement award is one of 47 proficiency program areas FFA members can participate in to develop valuable experience and leadership skills at the local, state and national levels.

Carson, a member of the Vallivue FFA Chapter, became eligible for the national award after winning the Idaho State FFA competition earlier this year. In recognition of being a finalist, each of the four finalists will receive a plaque and $500. The national winner will receive an additional $500 during a special ceremony at the Nation Convention and Expo.

The National FFA Organization provides leadership, personal growth and career success training through agricultural education to approximately 653,359 student members who belong to one of 8,568 local FFA chapters throughout the US, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

We are very proud to have Carson as an employee here at Peterson Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram in Nampa. Carson works in our detail department prepping customers vehicles for delivery. He takes pride in his work and is a real asset to our company.

On behalf of his Peterson family, we wish Carson the best of luck at Nationals!
