And the journey begins!  The new Jeep has been delivered to the body shop and the team is ready to transform this beauty into a pickup truck.  We will be posting before and after shots and everything in between so check in often to see the progress.

The scene plays like a sequel straight out of a Transformers movie….well, sort of.   For those of you with visions of your four-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited morphing  into a two-door truck, your time has come.

What could be better than combining the go-anywhere capabilities of a Jeep with the practicality of a pickup truck?

Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited are some of our most accessorized vehicles,” said Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO, Mopar, Chrysler Group LLC’s service, parts and customer care brand.  “New Jeep Wrangler owners typically spend more than $500 on Mopar accessories.  For Jeep Wrangler Unlimited owners, our new Mopar JK-8 kit answers the call for even more radical customization.”

The JK-8 kit is now available for ordering through Mopar at Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram dealerships and will retail for around $5,499.  The kit includes a steel bed, inner and outer bedsides, sport bar extensions, Freedom panel assembles, fiberglass hardtop and bulkhead.  There are two processes involved in the conversion from a four-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited to a two-door pickup truck:  disassembly and reassembly.  The bed of this truck will measure out at 50 inches long by 44 inches wide (between the wheel wells).

This kit comes with a three-year/36,000-mile warranty and could feasibly be executed by a  “skilled” do-it-yourselfer.  For the less handy among us, your local Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram dealership will be more than happy to do the install for you.

Our crew at the Peterson Autoplex Body Shop here in Boise, Idaho will be doing a conversion on a new Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and we will follow the progress with pictures  and updates as the transformation unfolds.

Body Shop manager Kevin Tyler and his crew are excited to start the project and can’t wait to showcase the finished project.  If  you just can’t wait to see our finished project and want to give it a go yourself, call our parts department today and “ASK” them to order your JK-8 Jeep Unlimited kit.

Stay tuned as the transformation takes shape almost right before your eyes.
